A Beginner's Guide to Writing in English for University Study

My final essay for the course:

Discuss the reasons why people think animation is just for children.

There is a big part of the population that thinks animation should only be watched by children. There is a general idea that as grown ups, adults prefere live action series and movies over animation based ones.

People judge the image first without watching beyond what an animation is about. There is a big number of animations whose characters are weird and silly looking. Color is one of their principal traits too. The image is done that way to invite the audience to watch and relax, to get in the world and let it flow. For example, The amazing world of Gumball has a simple image design for an antropomorphic family of pink bunnies, blue cats and an orange fish.

Then there's the situations happening in an animation, that normally are not real or even possible. Watching animation requires the use of imagination and acceptance of different ways to tell a story. There is people that can't agree with things if they go too far away from reality, so no mater if it's a traditional story in a planet full of weird creatures or a crazy story happening in a regular school it is not accept.

People judge images and decide to reject what doesn't apply to expectations of reality. Being an adult sometimes is seen as being serious, as if that takes away the capacity to imagine. Actually, it only changes the way things are seen. There is a moment in life when adults form families and have kids, it's at this point when people start watching animation again. For that reason there are many different themes directed to the whole family or just for adults to enjoy.
